Our proposals reimagine the former Phoenix Lock Works on Pitt Street, Wolverhampton, within the Conservation Area, transforming this historic industrial building into a vibrant mixed-use destination. The scheme includes the sensitive partial demolition and a contemporary four-storey extension to deliver:

• 84-bedroom hotel
• Commercial gym
• Ground floor retail space
• Coffee shop activating the street frontage

The architectural approach has been carefully developed to respect the site's industrial heritage and conservation setting. The contemporary extension responds to the existing building's proportions, character and architectural language, drawing on the established window rhythm, pier widths and material palette to create a cohesive and complementary addition.

Projects like this demonstrate how thoughtful design can breathe new life into underutilised heritage assets, supporting investment, regeneration and economic growth while respecting the historic fabric of our towns and cities.
